York to host winter glass exhibition

Glassmakers from around the world will celebrate winter through glass.

York’s very own Pyramid Gallery will be holding the winter exhibition from 17th November, which brings together 30 glassmakers from around the world. 

“Over 70 members [of the Contemporary Glass Society] applied from across the world – including Japan and Argentina,” says Sue Purser Hope, Chair of the Contemporary Glass Society. “Artists have been inspired by frost, ice, snow, winter birds, poetry, literature, hibernation and crisp winter days.”

The 30 chosen glass makers will display their work at Pyramid Gallery until 14th January 2019. 

Exhibitors include: Jacqueline Allwood,  Griet Beyaert, Effie Burns, Keith Cummings, Karina Del Savio, Samantha Donaldson, Toni Fairhead, Fiona Fawcett, Dominic Fonde,  Liz French, Colin Hawkins, Catherine Hough, Gillian Mannings Cox, Linda Norris, Yoshiko Okada, Morag Reekie, Fiona Rew, Moira Robinson, Rebecca Rowland-Chandler, Guergana Sabkova, Charles Sharpe, Cathryn Shilling, Helen Slater, Dawid Stroyny, Boris Shpeizman, Nancy Sutcliffe, Jinya Zhao and Maria Zulueta.
