Ooh la la! It’s time for a bit of Parisian culture – the incredibly talented York Opera company are staging one of the most popular operas in the world, Carmen.
Set in southern Spain, the story revolves around soldier Don José and Carmen – a confident gypsy who knows what she wants. French composer Georges Bizet’s controversial content sparked bold opinions following its premiere in 1875, but is now widely acclaimed all over the world.
So, here’s your chance to see it for yourself. Tickets are available now at York Theatre Royal, with performances from 23rd-24th and 26th-27th October.
