Remember when Steve Redgrave won his fifth consecutive gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games? Or when England scored that golden goal in the 1966 World Cup against Germany? If you do, and you fancy having a chinwag with other sports enthusiasts, why not pop down to the York City FC Foundation’s Sporting Memories sessions?
Their sessions encourage people with dementia, or individuals who are lonely, to pop along and meet like-minded people for a chat about sport over coffee and a biscuit. It’s completely free to attend, and everyone’s welcome.
With sessions held three times a week in Bootham Crescent, Wigginton and Easingwold, there are plenty of opportunities to take part. Call 01904 559508 for more information.
