    Thursdays 7.30pm to around 9pm, from 11 October 2018

    York St John University, Contemplation Room: room QN006, Quad North
    The University campus is at the end of Gillygate, and there is a car park next to it, on Clarence Street. Google Samatha meditation in York to get room’s location.
    No previous experience in meditation is needed. There is no charge for the class. It is best to avoid tight clothing.
    The practical teachings of this weekly series of classes are drawn from the Theravada Buddhist tradition, in which mindfulness is central, but people of all backgrounds can benefit from this. The class is taught by Peter Harvey, who has taught mindfulness since 1977.
    While it is preferable to attend from the first class, you can join later.

    The class runs October 11 to December 13, then continues January 4 to April 18 and May 2 to June 20. The class is closed to new joiners by the end of March.
