It’s the Elizabethan stately home’s Autumn Festival – a reinvented Michaelmas Fair where you can enjoy the finest local food and drink, craft stalls, and festival entertainment, all in Burton Agnes Hall’s beautiful grounds.
During the weekend of the 27th and 28th October the festival will showcase fabulous local produce, and artisan beers, gin and ciders, to enjoy there or take away. And why not kick off your Christmas shopping with a unique handmade gift from their great selection of crafts stalls?
Whatever you choose to do there, you’ll be walking in rhythm – top quality live music will be playing all weekend from the Ukulele Assembly Line, the Tuba Dudes and many others.
The Hall’s owner, Simon Cunliffe-Lister, says: “I’m hoping that visitors will settle in, enjoy a pint or two of locally-brewed beer or cider, and some really good food, whilst listening to some great live music – and be inspired to explore the craft and gift stalls.”
But it doesn’t stop there – you’ll also be dazzled by traditional street performances including sword dancing and Morris dancing (not at the same time), and fairground rides will run throughout the weekend. If you want to get really organised, pop inside the house and enjoy Christmas craft demonstrations, including wreath and decoration making, and take some new-found inspiration home.
Set among the stalls, you’ll find Burton Agnes Hall’s courtyard shops. The Garden Shop and Gift Shop will offer tempting and unusual gifts, souvenirs and seasonal produce. Delicious treats await you in the café, where freshly prepared meals, warming drinks and soups, and homemade cakes will be served throughout the weekend.
