Lest We Forget

Panto season might be approaching, but York legends Berwick Kaler and Martin Barrass are taking to the stage for a very different reason.

Sunday 4th November will see our panto heroes commemorating the War Heroes at York Barbican’s Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance – 100 years after the end of World War I.

Berwick and Martin will be joined on stage by some of York’s greatest soloists, including Lessa Liversidge, Jacob Walsh and Ionica Adriana. Local school children will also gather to sing songs of the 1918 era.

Students from Fulford School will retell stories of bravery from our fallen soldiers, and York’s very own Harry Gration will commemorate the unselfish actions of the young men from St. Peter’s School alongside two current pupils.

The venue will echo songs, military music and heartfelt words from WW1 poets, to create a truly powerful atmosphere.
