Strangers no more

A York woman urges locals to host coffee morning to get to know the neighbours.

Helen Gardner has taken part in Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning for the last ten years. Now the nurse, from Clifton Moor, is urging local people to get involved in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning as a great way to raise money for charity and meet more people in your local area.

"It's the ideal opportunity to catch up and raise money for charity," says Helen. "Plus it's easy to take part, just put the kettle on and make a few cakes!"

All of the money raised from the World's Biggest Coffee Morning will help the charity continue to make a difference to people living affected by cancer in North Yorkshire. This year the charity is hoping even more people will hold a coffee morning on 28th September to help change the lives of people affected by cancer.
