Candidates announced for the North Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner

The commissioner will be an elected representative charged with securing efficient and effective policing in the county of North Yorkshire. It is a new role, recently proposed by the government. The close of nominations for the first Commissioner for North Yorkshire was at 12 noon on 19th October.

The Police Area Returning Officer for North Yorkshire Police Area received two nominations and these are:

 

•  Julia Mulligan, The Conservative Party Candidate

•  Ruth Potter, Labour Party Candidate

 

The election will be held on 15th November, polling hours are 7am to 10pm. The Statement of Persons Nominated will be published on City of York Council website at www.york.gov.uk
