GeniUS! challenge seeks ideas

Could you help someone with Alzheimer’s?

Today is World Alzheimer's Day and GeniUS! - York's first community open innovation forum - is launching a new challenge. They're asking businesses, individuals, entrepreneurs and community organisations to come up with ideas on ways that people with dementia can have more control over their lives and feel more socially included.

Businesses, groups and individuals are being invited to pitch their ideas that could help people with dementia negotiate daily tasks more confidently or support them in anyway. Proposals need to be submitted on the GeniUS! forum by 2nd November.

On the forum they can get feedback on their ideas and input from other innovators and experts to refine their proposals. A selection of the most promising solutions will then be invited to make a short presentational pitch to a panel of judges during York Business Week at the Create Your Future event on 12th November at the Hospitium in Museum Gardens.

The Winner will be announced on the day and a budget of up to £10,000 will be made available to invest in a pilot of the winning solution in the city next year.
