SKATE, PLAY, SHOP, DINE AT YORKSHIRE’S WINTER WONDERLAND!
Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland continues to host the North of England’s largest and best-loved outdoor ice rink – The Ice Factor. With its giant 30ft Christmas tree as the centrepiece for the event, the rink is surrounded by an illuminated forest, log cabins, and café.
Our NEW Ice Hockey School offers a fantastic introduction to would be ice hockey players, focusing on the style of skating and the skills needed to Play the Game. Never played before? No problem – our school is built around those who have never even picked up a stick, as well as those who have and already know the basics. In addition to learning the sport, our Ice Hockey school will assist children to work as a team and improve their physical abilities.
And after your session, enjoy a warming drink beside the rink in PapaKitchen at The Ice Factor – offering rinkside refreshment within a heated alpine-themed chalet, complete with cosy furs, rustic wooden tables and benches and the warming scent of Glühwein. And remember, it’s made of 100% real ice.
There’s excitement for everyone at the funfair, with rides and games stalls offering prizes galore!
One again the funfair is solely comprised of a unique collection of vintage rides from the golden era of fairgrounds. Visitors can enjoy a rare Brooklands Dodgems from 1937, a stunning 1930s Chair-o-Plane, a Ghost Train dating from the 1950s, an exhilarating 1936 Speedway and two exquisite children’s rides: a 1947 Muffin the Mule Autodrome and Hush Hush the Monorail, the oldest ride, made in 1933. The rides have been lovingly restored over the last few years by an outstanding team of local craftspeople, making this year at Yorkshire Winter Wonderland an unforgettable Christmas experience.
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a visit to Santa’s Grotto and this year he has a stunning log cabin set at the end of a Christmas tree walk, with his giant-size reindeer and sleigh. There’s a wrapped gift for every child for just £4.50.
SHOP & DINE - you’ll have to venture indoors for these ones, though the PapaKitchen will be open for hot food and drinks.
